Bottles of Tears
The Insight About Our Thoughts
While studying Jewish customs, I came across a ritual that profoundly changed the way I view my body and health. It’s a custom where a Jewish child is given a small bottle to collect tears throughout their life—tears of grief, sadness, or any turmoil. They collect tears not only from themselves but from others who share in their sorrow. This bottle is kept until death, then buried with them as a way to show God the hardships they've endured.
This concept became even more powerful when I heard about the woman in the New Testament who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears. She essentially emptied her tear bottle at His feet, offering her sorrow to Him in faith, trusting that He would take it back to God on her behalf.
Our Bodies as Vessels of Emotion
Our bodies are like vessels, shaped by our thoughts and experiences. Every emotion, whether consciously or subconsciously held, is stored in our bodies. Over time, these emotions build up, causing stress that can lead to physical issues like disease or weight gain. Our bodies are like a huge tear bottle, holding onto all that we’ve endured.
We often fool ourselves into thinking that we’ve let go of past hurts, only to bury them deep within. These buried emotions still affect us, creating tension that slowly depletes our energy and affects our health. If we look at our bodies as these “tear bottles,” we can understand how internal chaos manifests outwardly.
The Power of Our Thoughts
Each thought we have can either positively or negatively affect our body. Negative thoughts and emotions create an internal environment of stress and fear, while positive thoughts promote healing and well-being. It’s crucial to pay attention to your thoughts because they shape your emotions and ultimately your physical state.
Every thought is like a mustard seed—small, yet capable of growing into something much larger. Just like the mustard plant grows up to 15 feet from a tiny seed, our thoughts have the potential to create significant change in our lives.
Scriptures like Proverbs 23:7 and Mark 7:23 remind us how powerful our thoughts are. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Our perceptions of reality come from the experiences and emotions we’ve accumulated over time. These perceptions shape the way we react to life.
Bringing the Hidden to Light
When we face our hidden emotions and bring them into the light, we open a path to healing. It’s like opening a bottle, letting light in to dispel the darkness. This process is vital for overcoming bad habits or addictions, as it requires us to acknowledge the issue without shame or guilt. By bringing light to these dark places, we allow healing to begin.
Disconnect the Thought, Break the Circuit
The key to change is recognizing the “moment of choice”—the split second between accepting a thought and how we perceive it. In that moment, we can decide how we want to react. If we consciously choose a different perception, we can prevent negative emotions from controlling us.
By shifting our thought patterns, we can create new neuro-pathways in our brain. This helps us change old habits and allows us to break free from cycles of negativity, becoming creators of our own experiences instead of victims of our thoughts.
The Role of Music in Healing
Studies have shown that music has a profound impact on brainwave activity. Familiar music keeps our mind engaged, while unfamiliar music helps our brain relax, lowering stress and shifting us into a peaceful state. This is why I play Serene Tones for my clients. Music can cross emotional and mental barriers, offering a powerful tool for relaxation and healing.
Music is filled with energy and vibrations that impact our thoughts and emotions. It can transform us, helping us access deeper parts of ourselves, and offer comfort during tough times. The right music can raise our energy, help us relax, and even heal our emotional wounds.
Creativity and Healing
Creativity, in all its forms, helps us transcend traditional thinking and brings new ideas into reality. When we tap into our creative energy, we fuel our minds to create positive change, not just in our lives, but in the lives of others.
By shifting our thoughts and embracing creativity, we can create lasting positive change, breaking free from the old patterns that no longer serve us. Through awareness and action, we can transform our lives into something beautiful and fulfilling.
