Plant the Seed
Every Creative Reminder is like a seed. As you spend time reflecting, journaling, and talking with God, that seed begins to take root in your heart. Each month's reflection is designed to help you plant it a little deeper.
Plant the Seed - Grow Joy
🌿 Plant the Seed
When we take time to slow down, reflect, journal, and invite God into our thoughts, that little seed begins to grow.
September's Seed
364 I am changing the need to have everything perfect, feeling uptight, unsure, and unwilling to move forward. Releasing the tendency to always second guess myself. Where I am right now is wonderful. I am relaxed, comfortable and energized in who I am. I set priorities and handle things and situations with a graceful flow.'
🌿 Notice
What have I been carrying for so long that it has begun to feel normal?
Is it a worry... a disappointment... a fear... a responsibility... or words someone once spoke over me?
Write whatever comes to mind without judging it.
🌿 Name It
If you could take one thing out of your "backpack" today, what would it be?
Describe how it has affected your heart, your thoughts, or the way you see yourself.
🌿 Release
Imagine placing that burden into God's hands.
What would you like to say to Him?
Take a few moments to think about your words, or write an entry in your journal, knowing He cares about every part of your story.
🌿 Begin Again
Read your Creative Reminder on the back of the bookmark showing the mushroom fabric. Or here is a quick, short message to repeat in your mind.
It's never too late to begin again.
Now ask yourself:
If I truly believed those words, what is one small step I could take this week?
Remember, courage doesn't always look like a giant leap. Sometimes it simply looks like taking the next faithful step.
🌿A Moment for words of Gratitude
Thank you God for the gift of a new day.
Help me slow down enough to notice what is good,
give me courage for what lies ahead,
and remind me that I am never walking alone.
Help me move forward with peace, hope, and grace.
The sunflower. 🌻
I couldn't resist including one this month because sunflowers just seem to belong at a September fair. I love their tall golden faces reaching toward the light. They remind me that growth takes time.
A sunflower begins as a tiny seed and, little by little, becomes something beautiful that others can enjoy.
I think we are like that, too. There are things we've been quietly growing that others may not see—strength, courage, creativity, patience, wisdom, faith, new ideas, and new dreams.
So when you look at your sunflower, I hope you ask yourself:
What have I been growing?
And then perhaps:
Am I willing to let it be seen?
You don't have to be the biggest or the best. Just keep growing. And when you're ready, share with the world what you have been growing.
Sewing machine with a quilt.
They are both another reminder of something I love about the fair.
A quilt is made from many small pieces, assembled over time, with effort and creativity. One piece at a time, those little pieces become something beautiful. Isn't life like that? We sometimes look at someone else's finished quilt while we're staring at our own pile of unfinished pieces and think we're not doing enough.
But maybe we need to stop comparing and start celebrating.
Every effort is worth celebrating.
You don't have to be perfect to share what you've made.
So don't wait until everything is just right. Trust yourself. Bring what you've made. Bring what you've learned. Bring what you've been growing. Bring it anyway.
